WASSCE, if the Federal Government-owned schools are not going to take part in same. If they go ahead, according to the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, and the National Parent Teacher Association of Nigeria, NAPTAN, it will not only distort the education sector but will also create chaos that may be very difficult to remediate. By Michael Eboh The Federal Government, yesterday, proposed an expenditure of N11.86 trillion for the 2021 budget, representing a 9.7 per cent increase when compared with N10.81 trillion in the revised 2020 budget. The government also released the 2021-2023 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper (MTEF/FSP), which kick-started the 2021 budget process. The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, who presented the document at a Public Consultative Forum on the 2021-2023 MTEF/FSP, added that the Federal Government was projecting N6.98 trillion aggregate revenue from available sources, leading to a fiscal deficit of N5.16 trillion for 2021. Mrs. Ahmed stated that the 2021-2023 MTEF/FSP would provide the framework for the development of the 2021 budget against the backdrop of a challenging global macroeconomic environment, as well as, domestic factors. Ronnie and Donnie Dayton, 68, were delighted to have surpassed the previous record of oldest living conjoined twins with the pair declaring it was "what we've dreamed about since we were kids" The oldest living set of conjoined twins died earlier today at a hospice, aged 68, it has been confirmed. Twins Ronnie and Donnie Galyon passed away at the Dayton, in the state of Ohio, on the morning of Independence Day – a major holiday in the US. Their deaths were confirmed by their brother Jim. Jim’s brothers lived with him and his wife Mary in Beavercreek for 10 years in order for them to care for the twins. Back in 2010, 200 volunteers from the area helped builders put in an extension onto Jim’s home in order to help the twins live more comfortably. Seven cows were on Tuesday struck to death by thunder lightning at Elepo village, Ifon Osun in Orolu Local Government area of Osun state. It was gathered that the cattle were killed at the ranch after returning from the grazing field at the Elepo village. One of the residents in the community, Mistura Adeleke described the incident as a mystery. He sympathised with the owners while urging them to burn the dead cows to avoid an outbreak of an epidemic. “It is the first time such a frightening incident would happen in this area. We have over the years been living harmoniously with Fulani in our domain. “The death of the cows belonging to the Fulani cattle rearers living among us was a natural occurrence occasioned by thunder that struck in the town.”
