CAN SOMEONE LOSE HIS OR HER SALVATION?

CAN SOMEONE LOSE HIS OR HER SALVATION?

THE TRUE ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION IS YES, SOMEONE CAN ACTUALLY LOSE HIS OR HER SALVATION.....

THE BIBLICAL PROOF

The question, "whether one can lose ones salvation or not" has raised a kind of controversy in Christendom for quite a number of decades, if not millenniums.

Many minds have spoken in agreement & in advocation that "one can lose ones salvation".

While,

Many minds (if not in greater number & persuasion) have also spoken in agreement & in advocation that "one cannot lose ones salvation".

However, the latter seems to have been gaining more prominence, & encouraging carefreeness & juvenile delinquency amongst the advocates.

Be that as it is, the truth remains the truth.....

It is expedient that the world (especially, Christians) understand that one can lose ones salvation.

Meanwhile, it is necessary we understand that the main intention of God is & remains that the salvation He gives us remains permanently with us; God never intend we lose our salvation (at all). This is proved in John 14 Vs 16::

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper (the Holy Spirit), who will stay with you forever (GNT)

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you (NLT)

God intends that His Presence (His Holy Spirit & His Salvation) remains with us permanently. In fact, the NLT version says that this Holy Spirit will never leave us once He comes, upon our salvation.

This is also proven in the statement of Jesus in LUKE 10 Vs 41 & 42::

But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Here, Jesus said that this thing (i.e, Salvation) which Mary has received will not be taken from her. This is to tell us that it is never & will never be the intention of God that we lose our salvation.

However, scenerios & happenings can occur that will warrant one losing ones salvation.

This can be said to be "a hardened or unremorseful sinful heart".

Note: what makes one lose ones salvation is not the sin one commits, rather, the heart of the one that commits the sin. When the heart becomes hardened; strongly antagonist to correction, this can cause one to lose ones salvation.

This is proved in Matthew 23 Vs 37 to 39::

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God’s messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let me. And now, look, your house is abandoned and desolate. For I tell you this, you will never see me again until you say, ‘Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord!

From the above scenerio, it is obvious that the people of Jerusalem lost their salvation. God rebuked them in many ways, calling their attention to repentance (in Vs 37), but they refused. As a result, God withdrew His Presence from them (the temple can be likened to their hearts). God even told them that He will never come back again, unless they repent & seek His face again.

At this point, God left them over to reprobate minds; minds without control, full of iniquity (ROM 1 Vs 24), which can only be corrected by serious genuine repentance.

This tells me that no matter how deep one is in sin, if the one can sincerely repent & seek God again, the one can be be forgiven & restored.

In summary, God never intend we lose our salvation (John 14 Vs 16. Like 10 Vs 41 & 42)

However, scenerio as hardened & unremorseful sinful heart can cause one to lose ones salvation (Matthew 23 Vs 37-39, ROM 1 Vs 24)

However, one can still regain ones salvation, if & only if, one seriously & genuinely repent & seek God's face (Matthew 23 Vs 39). But that will only be possible if time still permits, i.e, if end hasn't come.

Meanwhile, there is need for devoted carefulness amongst Christians. Losing ones Salvation is the worst experience one can ever have, & I'm sure you never want to experience that.

Please, let's live with every carefulness, shunning all wrongs & sinful desires by total pious & obedience to God. By so doing, we will definitely reach the goal & please the Father.
